IMPROVISED comedy from five local people appearing in the guise of famed writers will light up Lancaster's Gregson Centre tomorrow (Friday) evening.
Each will have to impress the audience and defend their right to remain high in the literary echelons while rivals are hurled to oblivion.
The occasion is the Lancaster's Spotlight Club's 10th annual Great Balloon Debate' which will see all proceeds go to the Indian Ocean Tsunami appeal First of the candidates aiming not to be dislodged from the balloon for a downward trip is writer, singer and all round good egg Mollie Baxter, appearing in the guise of Anne Rice, author of The Vampire Chronicles and Lives of The Mayfair Witches.
She will be up against comedy writer and occasional poet Patrick Burton defending the reputation of Dylan Thomas, comedienne Marian Hughes as Barbara Cartland, writer and Spotlight co-ordinator Ron Baker hovers as William McGonagall and sketch writer and would-be rock star Colin Tweddle as Bram Stoker.
Compere for the contest which promises to be a night of true fun, jesting and quips will be Sarah Fiske and admission will cost £4 (£3 concessions.
