I WAS delighted to see that Cllr Ian Barker came out on accountability in the Citizen on November 25.
He answered the letter from Mr S Williams point for point and also took a long overdue swipe at the many correspondents who try to undermine the work of the council. His letter confirmed that the council knows what it is doing and is in control.
However, having made this noble start, Cllr Barker appears to have dropped out of the debate. Further points, perhaps ground-less, raised by Mr Williams and others have gone unanswered. What is the reason?
Accountability is a good quality to have even if you are not always right.
Don't give up now Cllr Barker, I want to believe in you and the system at the council. On behalf of the silent majority, I ask you to tell us how it is.
S Blamire, Morecambe.
