THE driving force for the effective regeneration of the West End of Morecambe must be its residents.
Our elected leaders should ensure there exists a steering group consisting largely of bona fide local residents backed by people who have businesses in the West End to lead the facilitators, project managers and construction experts.
For the consultation process to work effectively, each street within the zone must have at least one representative and an address to which that person can channel information to and from the steering committee and all residents in the street.
This steering committee is the key player and must possess the most power.
I look forward to being able to attend the next public meeting at the Platform concerning the expenditure of £75 million of public money. Perhaps someone would be kind enough to advise me when it is.
Mr S Williams, Torrisholme.
