FIRE fighters were called to a launderette on Lancaster's Dunbarton Road on Tuesday night after youths torched a bag of rubbish and placed it in a tumble drier.
The alarm was raised just before 8.30pm by a woman living in a flat above the shop. Her smoke detector sounded and she called emergency services.
When the fire brigade arrived they found the drier on fire with the bag blazing inside.
The machine was destroyed and the launderette suffered smoke damage.
Police are now looking for a group of suspects, who had been seen hanging around just before the blaze.
