NO action will be taken against a Lancaster taxi driver who allegedly abandoned three teenage girls in the city before Christmas after evidence proved to be inconclusive.
City council taxi licensing officers launched an investi-gation into the incident after it was claimed the driver tried to charge the girls, all aged 15, extra even though he turned up late for a pre-arranged fare.
When the girls told him they only had the money for the regular fare he told them to get out.
A spokesman for the council says: "The investigations have been completed but the evidence was incon-clusive and no further action is being taken."
The driver has not been named.
