ALL but five games in the British Energy North Lancashire Football League were either washed away or blown out at the weekend.
The full Premier Division fixture list was postponed, storing up even more fixture problems for teams at the top of the pile.
In the event, only one cup game and four in lower divisions survived the wild weather.
Division Three Galgate Reserves provided the shock of the day as they brushed aside a strong Marsh United Reserves outfit to progress to round four of the Squires Snooker Centre ko competition.
The villagers survived an early bettering at the hands of their visitors, thanks in large part to the heroics of veteran goalkeeper Andy McNae, and then two goals from Chris Haslam the second from the penalty spot in extra time handed them surprise progress.
Halton Rangers moved into second place in Division Two as they beat Torrisholme Reserves 2-0 with Joanthan Pink and Warren Goodwin on target.
But the team with most to celebrate were wooden spoon favourites AFC Moorlands as they picked up their first win of the season and moved away from the foot of the league.
Rob McHugh was the only man to find the target in a closely fought match with Grange reserves.
