Save the Children has volunteers, who speak the native languages, and who have been working in some of the areas affected for many years.
The Kendal branch of Save the Children is holding a coffee morning in Kendal Town Hall on Friday, January 14, from 9.30am to noon, with stalls, raffle and tombola in aid of the disaster.
