A NINETEEN-year-old Lancaster woman was rushed to hospital with serious injuries after her car hit a lamp post on the A6 Lancaster Road at Slyne early on Tuesday.
Tracey Crookes was driving a Citroen Saxo towards Lancaster at around 1am when the car went out of control.
When fire crews arrived at the scene they worked with paramedics to stabilise Ms Crookes before she was rushed to the Royal Lancaster Infirmary with serious head and body injuries. She was later transferred to the Royal Preston Hospital, where her condition is described as comfortable'.
No other vehicle was involved and Sgt Paul Mason, of the Lancaster road traffic unit, is appealing for witnesses to call 01524-596699.
