THE Lake District National Park Authority has deferred a decision to ditch its guided walks programme.
LDNPA voluntary wardens who lead the walks described the decision as the "best possible outcome."
The authority will hold a special meeting on February 7 at 10am when a decision over the future of the events programme which includes the guided walks will be made.
LDNPA bosses have said the recommendation to cut the walks is part of a "refocus" to attract more ethnic minorities, urban young and disabled people which will unlock more government and European funding.
