KENDAL Mountain Rescue Team was called to help a group of off-road enthusiasts who had become stranded after three of their vehicles got stuck in very wet ground on fells near Dent on the evening of Thursday, December 30.
The team evacuated six adults and two children from the Lancashire, Manchester and Yorkshire areas.
The team said weather conditions were atrocious, with high winds and driving rain as the group was walked to team vehicles and transported to safety.
The rescue was the 52nd for the team this year, making it its busiest year ever.
