POLICE officers were called to the A590 near Newby Bridge last Thursday to answer reports of a fight between two men in which a knife was allegedly used.
Two men, aged 43 and 22 and both from Liverpool, were arrested at the stretch of road between Newby Bridge and High Newton at around 10.10pm on suspicion of wounding following a call from a member of the public.
One was taken to Furness General Hospital for treatment while the other was taken to the Royal Preston Hospital for minor surgery to his injuries.
One of the men was only released from hospital this week and was immediately taken to Kendal Police Station for questioning.
Cumbria Police are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the alleged incident or seen a blue Ford Focus, registration KJ52 WBY, in the area at that time.
