GUESTS at a Lake District Hostel have been given the opportunity to get in touch with nature thanks to a group of conservation volunteers.
Derbyshire-based Bolsover Woodlands Enterprise provides opportunities for people with learning difficulties to gain practical training and work experience in conservation.
A group of 16 team members travelled to YHA Windermere to create a nature trail in the youth hostel grounds. They spent time tree felling, creating habitat piles for insects and small mammals, clearing overgrown vegetation,and edging and maintaining plants in the youth hostel gardens which had not been cleared for some time.
