A TALENTED trio of sisters making a name for themselves in the world of animation are among the guest speakers at an event aimed at firing the imagination of young would-be entrepreneurs.

Award-winning sisters Bryony, Cadi and Linnhe Callow, who are the brains behind Kirkby Stephen-based 3 Bear Animations, will explain how they established their claymation' studio in 1986 and went on to specialise in commercials, title sequences and short films.

Businessman Brian Scowcroft, who lives in the Winster valley and is the man behind the successful Kingmoor Park development in Carlisle, which has created 1,300 jobs, is a fellow guest speaker at the event, called Hands On Enterprise.

The event, which marks the start of National Enterprise Week, is being held on November 15, starting at 10am at the Merewood Hotel, Windermere, headquarters of Impact Development Training Group.

The event is being organised by the Prince's Trust and its sister charity, Business in the Community, and is aimed at people aged between 16 and 25.

Marian Kearney of the Prince's Trust said Hands On Enterprise was an interactive and inspirational workshop aimed at fostering entrepreneurial potential and a can-do' attitude in young people.

In addition to the guest speakers, a number of young people will talk about their own experiences of running a business, including Gareth and Kevin Cowan, farmers from Kirkby Lonsdale; Xandra Vracken, who runs a sailing business at Ambleside; Joseph McHugh, who formed a disc jockey and own record label venture in Ulverston; Julie Barton of Forge Europa, Ulverston; and Wayne Jobey, who has a wheelie bin cleaning firm operating in the South Lakeland and Carnforth areas.
