THUGS vandalised a charity shop in Morecambe - causing hundreds of pounds in damage.
The heartless thieves broke a display window of the Animal Care shop in Claremont Road.
And due to insurance excesses most of the repair costs have come straight from the charity - taking away money that should have been spent on animals in distress.
Shop volunteer Mrs May Smith, pictured, says: "They broke the window just so they could take something from the display. What they took we don't know but there was nothing expensive in there.
"The money to fix the window came from shop takings when it should have gone to the kennels."
