AS a resident of Morecambe for more than 50 years I would like to ask why would anyone with an ounce of common sense wish to refurbish the derelict relic of the former Midland Hotel? And who would patronise it if they did?
We are going to be short of a tip when the Salt Ayre landfill site closes soon, so let's start one by flattening the Midland and filling the Bay towards Barrow. That way we can have a barrage too.
We already have a flagpole for it - the nearby polo tower with its big green dustbin on top.
