HEYSHAM Operatic Society hits the big stage at Lancaster's Grand Theatre next week - with an all-new version of Gilbert and Sullivan's Ruddigore.
A tuneful parody of the stock melodrama, it is the second time the locals have staged the show.
The amateurs first performed in St James' Hall, Heysham, back in 1966 and have presented a Gilbert and Sullivan operetta every year.
It was in 1986 that members took the brave decision to move to performing in the Grand Theatre, where they have stayed ever since.
Alan Thompson is once again producing the show, with John Cherry as musical director and a cast including some new members along with many familiar faces.
The orchestra is composed of players from around the region with everyone working hard to make the show as good as always, says the society.
The show will be staged nightly from Monday to Friday, November 1 to 5, with curtain up at 7.30pm each evening. Tickets cost £7 (£6.50 concessions) from the box office on 01524-64695.
