A folk band which boasts its own brass section is bring its unique sound to the Platform in Morecambe on Friday, November 12.

Whapweasel, pictured, are no longer the best kept secret on the English ceilidh circuit - for the word is out.

After seven years of dignified obscurity, the Whaps were propelled into the limelight by their CD Relentless as it received unanimously enthusiastic reviews worldwide.

A series of triumphant gigs at Sidmouth Folk Festival followed and further acclaim came at the end of the year with an inclusion in Mojo's list of Best Folk CDs and a nomination for the Horizon Award as best new act in the annual Radio Two Folk Awards.

Whapweasel are Robin Jowett on melodeon, Mike Coleman on cittern and guitar, Stuart Finden & Fiona Littlewood on sax, Brian Bell on bass, Bob Wilson on drums, Rick Kemp on guitar and Heather Bell on keyboards.
