LANCASTER Uni's Great Hall will host a night of Bhangra, Babylon and Blues with the Grand Union Orchestra next week.
The show on Thurs-day (November 4) features intense and passionate music and songs combining the spiritual calm of Indian classical music and the rhythmic energy of bhangra with the exhilarating flow of jazz improvisation and heart-stopping big band blues Part of the Lancaster International Concert series, it will see the Grand Union celebrating its 20th birthday in style.
Performers featured in the critically acclaimed 18-piece orchestra include Tony Kofi, Claude Deppa, Brian Abrahams, Jason Yard, Bryon Wallen, Ingrid Laubrock, Baluji Shrivastav, Paul Jayasinha and Yousuf Ali Khan.
The show starts at 7.30pm with tickets £13 and £10.50 (£10.50/£8 concs) from the box office on 01524-594151.
