FOOTBALL: Appleby could not hold a strong Kendal County and lost 3-0 on Saturday in one of the few Talbot Insurance Westmorland League matches played because of many waterlogged pitches in the area.
Goals from Ryan Wallace, Peter Nicholls and Phil Hodgson gave County the three points to put them back on top of the first division.
Appleby produced few clear-cut chances to worry County's newly-signed keeper Adam Hornby, who has joined from Milnthorpe Corinthians.
Carvetii United enjoyed another wide-margin win when beating Burneside Reserves 9-2 in Division 3.
Results: Division 1: Coniston 1, Windermere 3; Kendla County 3, Appleby 0. Division 2: Burneside 6, Victoria SC 0. Division 3: Carvetii Utd 9, Burneside Res 2; Grasmere 1, Sedbergh Wanderers Res 2.
