SOUTH Lakeland District Council has been awarded just under £3 million by the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs for flooding plans.
The Stock Beck flood alleviation scheme hopes to prevent a repeat of the floods that devastated parts of Kendal in January 1999.
Cabinet will discuss the next move on December 8.
