THE Office of Fair Trading has given Tesco the go-ahead to take over Carnforth's Safeway supermarket.
The Lancaster Road branch was one of ten Safeway stores sold to Tesco last month as part of a multi-million pound deal.
A spokesperson for Tesco said no date had yet been set to convert the store. Morrisons, which took over Safeway last year, has agreed to sell 52 stores in order to mollify competitors.
