Licence warning MOTORISTS are being warned to make sure their driving licence up to date or else face a £1,000 fine.
This message comes from the DVLA after it was revealed one in three drives in Cumbria is breaking the law by holding an inaccurate driving licence. Chief Inspector Kevin McGilloway of Cumbria Police said: "We urge motorists to check their driving licence and would encourage them to apply for a new one if it no longer contains accurate information. The details contained on a driving licence can really help us in the work we do."
Notifying the DVLA of changes in name and address is free of charge and simple to do. For information on how to update your driving licence and/or vehicle registration document/ certificates go to your local post office or log on to www.dvla.org.uk.
