A TECHNICOLOUR cow in walking boots can now be found in Furness.
The life-sized cow sculpture designed by artist Lynne Duric has taken up residence in the Colony Country Store at Lindal-in- Furness.
Christened Lakeland Belle, the fibre-glass bovine was part of the Cow Parade in Manchester. The international art exhibition, which came to a close last month, saw decorated cows grazing' the city streets all summer.
Lakeland Belle had been designed to represent Cumbria in the Cow Parade and "capture the balance of nature in the region". Over the body of the cow the contours of the Lake District have been captured from hooves to head with a combination of acrylic brush and spray work.
It was bought by Colony in an auction that raised cash for Manchester children's charity Manchester Kids.
