"WE WERE superb for the 20 minutes against Warrington and should have had a 5-0 lead as at least two of the chances were little more than tap-ins, but that's football.
"It was impossible to sustain the level of football we produced in the first half and continue creating that number of chances.
"Warrington are not a bad side, they beat Woodley and top of the table Ilkeston last week and in the second half they more than matched us and could have taken the points but for Mark Thornley's magnificent save near the end.
"I still feel we are making progress, however, and don't forget that we were without two first-choice players on Tuesday with Paul McMenemy and Russ McKenna suspended.
"Ricky Mercer picked up his fifth yellow card so he will miss the game a week on Saturday, but our disciplinary record is now improving and that is showing in the results.
"There is still everything to play with 30 league games left and although we are still not the finished article on the field we are getting there and the squad is strong.
"Lee Clitheroe and Chris Bennett are now back in full training after injury and I have signed Tom Entwhistle, who plays central midfield or on the wing as cover for future injuries.
"He is a young lad who played for Plymouth Argyle Reserves last season before moving to Morecambe where they have been bringing him on in the Reserves. They are keen to keep him, but I spoke to Morecambe manger Jim Harvey and he was quite happy for him to sign the papers so that he can be available for us if necessary."
