by RACHEL RYAN PEOPLE are being asked to jump on the bandwagon and help a Morecambe bobby to raise cash.
Town centre community beat manager Neil Pigott is seeking backers for a charity Blowathon' to raise funds for the resort's RNLI Home for the Hover appeal.
Keen bandsman Neil, pictured left, who plays the tuba with Morecambe Brass Band, is taking part in a 10-hour event at The Platform starting at 11am on November 20.
The event promises to be spectacular with the use of pyrotechnics to back the band.
Neil says: "I have only recently started playing again, so I really need the practice, though some people question my sanity for attempting 10 hours of playing. However, I think that the end result will be worth it!"
The appeal by Morecambe RNLI is to get a more suitable home for the bay's hovercraft.
Says Neil: "I just feel that if I can help in any way, then I will."
The event will be in addition to £142 already raised so far by Morecambe Community Radio Group. To help Neil, call 07904 004 084.
