AUDIENCES can experience a wide choice of live classical and world music on their doorstep as Lancaster International Concert Series begins its new season The programme of eight orchestral concerts, the best in world music and a mixture of chamber and early music kicks off tonight (Thursday) as pianist Angela Hewitt plays a programme that includes JS Bach and Mendelssohn.
Next week, one of the UK's most distinguished and popular ensembles returns to Lancaster University.
Manchester Camerata, featuring Tracey Redfern on trumpet and conducted by Douglas Boyd, has been bringing live music to a wide audience for more than 30 years.
The programme for Thursday, October 21, begins with Beethoven's First Symphony and ends with Haydn's final London' symphony.
The concert, to be held in the Great Hall at the university from 7.30pm, is preceded by a Meet the Artist' session at 6.45pm Tickets are from £10 to £16.
