POLICE figures have shown that Crimestoppers-connected arrests doubled between 2002 and 2003. Last year 44 arrests were made, compared to 22 in 2002.
Cumbria Constabulary, who said Crimestoppers experienced a 60 per cent increase in calls from the local community in 2003, stressed there was still room for improvement. They urged anyone who knows of any criminal act being committed, to call Crimestoppers on 0800-555111.
All calls are confidential and good results can gain cash rewards.
