AGE Concern South Lakeland has received a major lottery windfall of £224,510 which will benefit hundreds of elderly people in the area.
The new grant will mean that from next spring the charity will be able to run more outreach surgeries across the district and continue to run its extensive advice, information and advocacy services until 2008.
Yesterday's announcement means that the Big Lottery Fund has awarded more than £370,000 to the charity since 2002.
