NORTH West restaurants rival those in London according to the 2005 Good Food Guide published yesterday (Thursday.
According to the Guide listed L'Enclume at Cartmel and Holbeck Ghyll at Windermere among the best eateries in the country.
Guide editor Andrew Turvil says: "Anybody who thinks London is the be-all-and-end-all needs to expand their horizons."
He has rated both L'Enclume and Holbeck Ghyll on a par with the capital's Le Gavroche and Gordon Ramsay at Claridge's.
