POLICE have arrested a 54-year-old woman and a 30-year-old man, both from the Bradford area, as part of the investigation into the death of Warrington teenager Shafilea Ahmed.

The 17-year-old's badly decomposed body was found in the River Kent, near Sedgwick, after flooding in February.

The Bradford pair were arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to pervert the course of justice and bailed to appear on December 15. Cheshire Constabulary spokesman Ian Cuthbertson said they were members of Miss Ahmed's extended family.
