I AM writing to ask if any of your disabled wheelchair user readers are having the same problem as me regarding getting a taxi in Morecambe or Lancaster.

On Sunday my mother and me decided to go to the market in Morecambe. My mum pushed me in my chair. But while on the market it started to rain so we went across to the supermarket to use the free phone to get a cab.

When my mum asked for a wheelchair cab they said there were none out at all so we tried another number and got the same reply.

With this in mind that the whole of Morecambe has no taxi out that will take a wheelchair, my mum had to push me all the way back home in the rain.

This is just one of the numerous occasions where I have tried to get a cab and been told there are none on the road.
