JIM Harvey hailed his Morecambe players after they raised their game in front of the television cameras to beat York City on Tuesday.
The Shrimps, who have failed to hit top form this season, finally reached something approaching a peak against the ex-Football League side in an excITING 2-1 win.
"That was so much better," enthused Harvey. "The fans have had a tough time because they have become used to us winning at home over the last couple of seasons.
"We have not done that as much this time so this game was important."
The Shrimps got off to a dream start thanks to another Michael Twiss goal inside 11 minutes and Harvey adds: "That always settles a side down.
"York had a good go at us after that but we defended very well and apart from the odd long-range effort York didn't create anything from open play.
"We were not really in trouble throughout the game but the last 90 seconds were a little bit long after they pulled a goal back."
By that time Morecambe had gone 2-0 up through Garry Thompson when York gave Harvey a few shorter fingernails with their late, late strike from Lev Yalcin.
"It never gets shorter in the dugout when a team scores with 90 seconds to go," smiled Harvey.
