Room on the 3rd Floor: McFly (Universal).
Titles including That Girl, Met This Girl, She Left Me and Surfer Babe give a fairly good indication of the subject matter of the songs on McFly's debut album.
These are songs which explore the concerns of the average teenage male which is unsurprising as the band members' average age is seventeen and a half.
The group toured earlier this year with Busted and appeal to a similar market. Their sound is less rockier than Busted's in fact, it owes a lot to the poppy sound of the Sixties.
Catchy hooks abound on tracks like the opener Five Colours in Her Hair and Saturday Night.
The stand-out track for me is Obviously, when the singer extols the virtues of a girl but bemoans the fact that 'she's out of my league'.
It's a great pop song from a band with plenty to offer.
