PREMIER Division pacesetters Kirkby Lonsdale were pushed all the way by a young Caton United side before running out 3-1 winners to maintain their place at the top of the league.

After a tenser first half, the deadlock was finally broken in 75 minutes thanks to a solo effort from Yassa Bojang. And the speedy striker made it 2-0 minutes later as he once again left the defence for dead.

Scott Doherty bagged a brace in that big win with other goals coming from Luke Ogley, Russell Mitchell, Damon Graham and Lee Brade.

Cartmel Reserves beat Allthwaite Rangers 3-1 but there was more bad news for Morecambe Royal Reserves.

They are still seeking their first point of the season after crashing 3-0 at home to Squire's FC.

Grange and Bentham played out the Division Two match of the day with Bentham winning 2-1 to regain pole position, while previously struggling Bare Rovers went ballistic against poor Caton United Reserves, winning 9-1.

Kevin Robinson led the way with four goals, while Adam Willis grabbed a hat trick and Sammy Dennerley bagged a brace.

Pendle Dynamos won for the fifth time in six games in Division Three, Dan Butterworth scoring a hat trick in the 5-0 win over winless Grange Reserves, while another side without a point, AFC Moorlands, went down 4-1 to Burton Thistle Reserves.
