TONY Hesketh is to have words with his squad in a bid to improve the disciplinary record.
In only 10 league and cup games played this season, Town have ended half of them with ten men, although a red card against Nigel Taylor was later rescinded by the referee as a mistake.
"I am very disappointed indeed with our record and although I do not think we are a dirty side, the discipline is something I must address," said Hesketh.
Recent red cards mean that he is without Lee Ashcroft for three games from tomorrow, Ricky Mercer for three games from the following Saturday and Paul McMenemy for three weeks from the following Tuesday.
"It is no surprise that in four of the games where players have been sent off we have lost heavily," he said.
Some of the problems have not been of Town's own making, however, and McMenemy's dismissal on Tuesday was just one of a string of debatable refereeing decisions which bedevilled the FA Cup match and replay with Prescot Cables, aded Hesketh.
Hesketh said: "Some of the decisions defied belief and late in Tuesday's game we were handed a complimentary penalty."
On Thursday Hesketh said he was hoping to sign two more players before the weekend and one or both could appear against Brigg Town tomorrow.
