FRIENDS have paid tribute to the lives of a cherished young couple who died in a car crash on the M6.
Neil Davy, 28, and his wife Caroline, 26, of Carnforth, died in Walsall when their car was crushed between a tanker and a 17-tonne lorry.
The lorry was carrying around 1,800 litres of phosphoric acid, which spilled when the force of the shunt burst the tanker's shell.
Mr Davy's family was too upset to speak but friends remember both he and his wife fondly.
Julie Boston, who went to the couple's wedding reception, said: "We'll really miss them, it's a real shame. I can't get over it."
Mrs Boston worked at Mr Davy's local pub, the New Inn in Yealand Conyers, and her husband trained him as a mechanic.
New Inn landlady Charlotte Pinder said the pub would close during the funeral.
And in Sue Shields beauty salon, in Carnforth, where Mrs Davy was a nail technician and therapist, a sign informed clients of the news.
