IF YOU enjoy watching fireworks screeching into the night sky, creating a rainbow of colours, and can't wait until bonfire night - then why not enter our explosive Prizetime competition.
One of the UK's leading firework extravaganzas will be coming to the Southport seafront as the Pleasureland British Musical Firework Championships take place on Friday, October 8, and Saturday, October 9.
Thousands are expected to attend and will be treated to displays of pyrotechnic wizardry as teams battle it out to be champion by synchronising fireworks to music.
This is the first year that firing will take place from the beach and Spitfire Pyrotechnics will be aiming to make it a hat-trick by claiming the trophy and £3,000 prize money for the third year in a row.
The Saturday night will see displays from Dragon Dynasty and Allstar Fireworks, who have done well in previous years along with newcomers Shellscape Pyrotechnics.
The entrants are given a free hand to choose any music they want and will be judged on the variety and impact of the fireworks as well as the way they are synchronised to the music. Each night the displays will start at 8pm and tickets will cost £3.50 per person, with under-fives free. For more information, visit www.visitsouthport.com or contact the events hotline on 01704-395511.
