RESCUE experts have joined forces in a bid to share knowledge and boost their effectiveness after a summer of incidents on Ullswater.
Lake District National Park Authority rangers and Penrith Mountain Rescue, who have pooled their resources, claimed the collaboration was not a direct result of the tragedy at Pooley Bridge this summer in which a man from Essex drowned.
LDNPA ranger Ian Clemmett said he saw the venture as a positive step for both parties.
Patterdale Mountain Rescue was also asked to have its boat on the lake to help look at rescue and recovery opportunities.
Mr Clemmett added: "It is vital we all work together to keep Ullswater as safe as possible, but when incidents occur we need to be able to pool our resources for fast and effective rescue and recovery."
