A FIRM of South Lakeland solicitors is poised for further growth when it takes over a building society agency later this month.

Temple Heelis is due to move into offices currently occupied by Alfred Mossop & Co on Crescent Road, Windermere, on September 20 and will continue to run the Furness Building Society agency based there at present.

Ruth Rimmer, who has worked at the agency and previously the building society's branch for many years, will continue in her role as cashier.

Alfred Mossop & Co will relocate to the Turner Scott building on Highgate, Kendal, where the business will concentrate on independent property advice and its valuation and survey practice.

Commenting on the changes, Temple Heelis senior partner Roger Broady said: "This is another exciting move for Temple Heelis and shows our commitment to developing the firm within the local community.

"We have plans to refurbish the agency to a high standard and look forward to building a long-term relationship with the Furness."

The firm plans to hold an open day to promote the agency and a number of marketing initiatives planned for the next six months, once work has been completed on the offices.

Furness Building Society chief executive Rob Cairns said he was delighted that the society's agency would remain in the same place in Windermere.

"We are also very pleased that we will be strengthening our relationship with such a prestigious law firm as Temple Heelis and that they plan to refurbish the agency premises to a high standard.

"I would also like to thank Tim Butler and his team at Alfred Mossop & Co for all their past efforts and to wish them well in their new Kendal location."
