ONE of the leading lights in British jazz will be performing at the Platform in Morecambe on Saturday (September 18).
Talented saxophonist Denys Baptiste is one of the headline acts coming to the area as part of the Lancaster Jazz Festival.
He will lead an explosive international line up at the Platform, also featuring the voice and poetry of Booker prize winning author Ben Okri performing Let Freedom Ring'.
The concert will start at 8pm and tickets are priced at £8 from the box office on 01524 582803.
The Jazz Festival events is now in its sixth year of bringing the best in local, national and international jazz in its many forms from traditional and swing to funky jams to the district,.
Headline acts Earl Oakin at the Gregson Centre in Lancaster tomorrow (Friday and Antonio Forcionne at the Gregson on Sunday. But there will be a programme of free music in Market Square and Sun Square on Saturday from noon and a pub trail on Sunday afternoon - with many new hostelries taking part.
In addition, there is a free late session, called Around Midnight' each night at the Gregson.
