I WAS utterly amazed to read in the Citizen that Lancaster City Council has stopped Hart's restaurant in Morecambe from using a bit of initiative to try to brighten up the place.
I really do think this council is clueless it seems to go out of its way to stop people from enjoying themselves yet when you go around Morecambe there are all sorts of tatty forecourts and alleys. Isn't it about time the authority did something about them.
I would like to point out that a huge number of cars park on the pavements and cause an obstruction. These are not only is a risk to pedestrians but pose a greater fire risk to surrounding properties, yet never seem to be removed.
There is also the question of cyclists who think that they have a greater right to use the pavements than pedestrians.
Come on, city council. Wake up and get your priorities right.
