A SURVEY which aimed to learn more about the hospital superbug' MRSA has given Morecambe Bay hospitals a clean bill of health.
More than 170 volunteers descended on hospitals across the area as part of the biggest-ever public MRSA survey.
The Bugwatch' by the Patient and Public Information Forum gave hospital staff nine out of 10 for having clean medical equipment and beds, and having towels and soap available.
However, it found that one in six staff did not wash their hands between treating patients and some wore wrist watches and rings despite infection advice.
Staff say that the forums have taken a big step in helping to stem the rise in hospital-acquired infections.
