IN Kendal and across the country, bright pink bubbles were popping over children's faces as more than 200 heats for the Great British Dubble Bubble Blow-Off took place on Saturday.
The bubble-blowing bonanza, only for children between six and 12-years-old, was judged by an independent referee who measured the size of the puffed-up gum. The Kendal heat took place in the Woolworths store on Saturday morning.
The national final will be held in October to see if Britain can match the United States, where in July a 12-year-old girl from Arizona blew a championship-winning bubble of 47cm - more than twice the diameter of a football.
