TWO cockle pickers about a mile off the coast at Aldingham were saved after being in danger of getting cut off by the sea.
A fellow cockler called the coastguard, which was dispatched from Walney Island. However, a quad bike picked them up before the coastguard arrived.
A jet-skier and a pillion passenger were rescued after they ran aground at Warton Sands, in Morecambe Bay, on Sunday.
The inshore lifeboat and a rescue hovercraft rescued the pair.
They were unhurt and the vehicle was retrieved.
