A fellow cockler called the coastguard, which was dispatched from Walney Island. However, a quad bike picked them up before the coastguard arrived.

A jet-skier and a pillion passenger were rescued after they ran aground at Warton Sands, in Morecambe Bay, on Sunday.

The inshore lifeboat and a rescue hovercraft rescued the pair.
