PUPILS from Kirkbie Kendal School were offered an insight into army life at a careers exhibition.
The event gave local pupils the opportunity to hear first-hand accounts from soldiers, some of whom have just returned from Afghanistan and Iraq.
The students from Kirkbie Kendal competed against other schools in an obstacle course, in addition to joining the army for 30 minutes' with the Green Howards.
Afternoon displays were provided by the Royal Regiment of Artillery's Flying Gunners' motorcycle display team, and the Silver Stars freefall parachute team of the Royal Logistic Corps.
