I WRITE in response to letters accusing Cllr Sheila Denwood of a lack of compassion towards rough sleepers in Lancaster's Garden of Remembrance.
I wonder would any of the authors like someone sleepiing on the graves of their loved ones.
I think not.
My father's name is on the roll of honour with all of the other heroes who did not have a choice in going to war - unlike many young people today who choose to make themselves homeless.
I believe the people of Lancster already do enough in the compassion stakes with a night shelter, drug and alcohol support clinics and all manner of support for young people in distress.
I, for one, support Cllr Denwood wholeheartedly.
Patricia Burrows, Lancaster.
