FOUR special meetings are planned to spell out the effects of new licensing laws in the Lancaster district.
Local people are being urged to go along and have their say on new booze rules which will come into force next year.
All licensed premises such as pubs, clubs, restaurants and even cinemas and theatres will have to apply for new style licences from February.
And at the same time, people wishing to sell or authorise the sale of alcohol will be able to apply for a new-style personal licence' under changing legislation.
Police, fire service and licensees' organisation are now being asked for their thoughts on the changes.
And the council says it is particularly keen to hear comments in regard to crime and disorder, the prevention of public nuisance, public safety and the protection of children.
Copies of the draft policy are available from the Council's website at www.lancaster.gov.uk and written comments and can be submitted up until Friday, November, 26.
The open meetings spelling out details of the policy are planned at Morecambe Town Hall (Monday, September 13 at 10am and 6pm) and Lancaster Town Hall (Thursday, September 16 at 10am and 6pm).
