DRY stone walling enthusiasts will be able to improve their knowledge thanks to a new video produced by the Cumbria Branch of the Dry Stone Walling Association.
The film called The Wall Walks the Fell outlines the evolution of Cumbria's walls, describing their construction and their functions as boundaries and shelter for stock and wildlife.John Stoddart, Secretary of the Cumbria Branch of the Dry Stone Walling Association, said: "Funding the film was going to be a problem but walling has wide appeal and with rural skill experiencing something of a revival, we were able to attract enough grant aid to achieve our objective."The film will be launched and screened for the first time at the Countryside Pursuits Marquee at the Westmorland County Show on September 9.
