LANCASTER and Morecambe people are being invited to stand up and be counted for their 15 minutes of fame The call comes from a new community radio station due to start broadcasting in October.
Diversity Radio says it will give an airing to anyone who has ever fancied hearing themselves broadcast over the airwaves.
Local bands, musicians and DJs are invited to send in 15-minute samples of their work recorded on CD for a start.
But individuals, organisations, institutions and groups can also get involved.
For the station says anyone can contribute material be it fiction, drama, documentary, interviews, features, comedy, satire or even commercials for make-believe products. Do your thing and send in a sample The new station will begin offering its community service to Lancaster and Morecambe on October 2 in parallel with the area's first Diversity Festival.
And organisers say a series of one-month licences are being sought to run consecutively from then on.
Anyone can be a part of the venture simply by sending their 15-minute sample' on CD to Diversity Radio, c/o YMCA, Fleet Square, Lancaster LA1 1HA, completed with a covering letter with contact details, including a phone number.
The schedulers cannot promise that it will all be used - but then again they may well come back and ask for more.
Volunteer presenters, technical assistants and people to help with organisation and co-ordination are also needed by the fledgling station.
