KENDAL'S latest public house will open on September 5, when the first pint is pulled at The Miles Thompson, on Allhallows Lane.
The former swimming pool, and once a base for South Lakeland District Council, has been extensively rebuilt during its £1.5 million, six-month revamp.
Manager Damian Collins said he was looking forward to taking over: "We are confident that it will be an asset to Kendal's social scene."
Owner JD Wetherspoon estimates 35 full and part-time jobs will be created, from cleaners to bar staff.
The pub is named after the swimming pool's architect, Miles Thompson, and will be run by licensees Damian Collins and Emma Thistleton.
Specialising in cask beers, serving at least eight at all times, the pub will be music-free with a large non-smoking area and beer garden.
It will also be accessible to people in wheelchairs and will have a specially-adapted toilet for customers with disabilities.
The pub will be open from 10am until 11pm, Monday to Saturday, and 10am until 10.30pm on Sundays.
Alcohol will be served from 10am from Monday to Saturday and noon on Sunday.
Children will be admitted to the pub from opening time until 9pm each day, if accompanied by an adult.
As a condition of the licence, both the adult and child must order a meal. Last orders for children's food will be at 8pm each night.
